Using ink pads for Letterpress

Hey Crafters!

Last year I purchased the We R Memories Evolution bundle with the Letterpress system and to be honest, I never used the Letterpress. I was just intimidated with the inking part (actually, I hate really messy projects that require a cleanup) so there it sat, for a YEAR!

Recently, I decided to pull it out and play with using my ink pads to see if they would give me the same results and to my surprise, it did!
Check out my video below to see how I did it.

Here is the final card!
If you were like me and have it but never used it, pull it out, play with it!

Dreaming of the Beach!

Hello Crafters!!
Happy Summer! I have been day dreaming about heading to the beach and so that was my inspiration behind today's card.

I found a free digi stamp of FLIP FLOP's and colored them with pencils. I used Unity Stamps "bright, happy you" stamp set and die cut the sun image. I used an embossing folder for the water and just added some kraft cardstock for the sand.

Don't forget to enter my giveaway for a Cricut Cartridge! See this blog post for details!

Light It Up Blue 2015 { #LIUB } - Autism Awareness Day Card

Hello Crafters!!

I don't usually get too personal on my posts but today is a special day in our home. Today is National Autism Awareness day we LIGHT IT UP BLUE in honor of our son, Evan, who not only is funny, he is handsome and has a smile that lights up a room AND he also happens to have Autism.

In our home, EVERYDAY is Autism Awareness Day and I am sure any person who happens to deal with Autism will agree. Over the years we have been taught the tools to handle our daily life and these days, I can honestly say, life is good!

Now on to the crafting part of my post!! Here is a card I made in honor of my son, using Unity Stamps for the light bulb and the letters from CTMH.

Crafting exploration...

Hello Crafters!!

I know that I have not been too active on my blog lately, but I have a good reason. Recently I stopped selling Close to My Heart products because I just didn't think it was a good fit for me (note, there wasn't a problem and I LOVE the products) and to be perfectly honest, I really am not a good salesperson

Instead of being devoted to one product, I started exploring other craft mediums and as much as I love making cards, I have re-discovered my ARTSY side again.

Once upon a time, I was an artist at heart. Spent my childhood summers in art class at the local art center, I then enrolled and was accepted in a creative high school (very progressive for the late 70's) and after high school, I let it slipped away with adulthood. It wasn't until I moved into my new home and had a real space for crafting that I started creating again.

Well... I am taking my crafting to a whole different level now. I started an Art Journal (after much inspiration from YouTube!) and I have a new obsession with water colors in all fashion. My exploration is finding out what medium I prefer to work with and trust me, a ton of hit or misses but I am actually learning what I prefer to work with along the way. This is a really exciting time for me to see some of the ideas in my head show up on paper!

In the coming weeks I will be working on some projects to post for you to see, maybe even a video.

If you are like me and in the middle of a crafting exploration, let me know in the comments. I would love to know what you are exploring also.

Have a crafty day!

Hello Crafters!!

How are you fairing with all this winter crazyness?? Me... I am cold! I am in PA and this past month I think someone moved me to Alaska and forgot to tell me!

In order to get out of this winter slump, I am participating in the Unity {be inspired} Challenge! As I have said in the past, I am a self proclaimed hoarder of Unity Stamps and just LOVE THEM!!
This months inspiration just reminded me of SPRING and I could not wait to make a card that feels like Spring!

Here is the Unity {be inspired} Challenge...
