{Glass Etching Crazy!}

I have finally put my fears away and tried GLASS ETCHING. I have seen so many awesome projects out there but I was just plain intimidated. Not anymore.

This year I am hosting a Holiday Cocktail Party for all my girlfriends and decided to make each one a special gift,

I went to my local Dollar Store and purchased Wine Glasses, went to my local craft store (used a coupon) and purchased Armour Etch then used my Cricut to make the template on contact paper. For the dots, I used the eraser side of a pencil (my hubby's idea)  It took about 2 hours or so but it went faster as I did more of them.

TIP: Instead of using expensive transfer paper, use Glad Press & Seal So much cheaper and really easy to use

Below are the Wine Glasses I made, There are minor flaws but they turned out great.

What did I do next... Dollar Store Martini Glasses with dots all over them. They look very similar to a BIG DEPARTMENT STORE design that I have wanted,,, just a whole lot less expensive to do myself,

I am Addicted to Glass Etching... Try it... it was so much easier than I expected, Once the holiday is over I will try to post a video of the steps but in the meantime... I wonder what else I can etch...

{Cork Decor}

This was made with my collection of corks (yes, we drank every bottle but I have been collecting for several years)!
I used a plain canvas, some torn up scrapbook paper & a wash of brown paint. I cut the letter from my Cricut and hot glued the corks down. I think it came out pretty good!

{New Mom's Scrapboard}

Our family is currently in the middle of a population explosion and I wanted to make something to welcome my new little niece!

It's a Scrapboard! A place a busy mother can put all those special memories in one place until she is ready (or has time) to put them in their permanent book!

I used a cork board that was painted and fabric was hot glued over the cork area. I used coordinating ribbon for areas to tuck in memories.

I made little envelopes for the First Haircut & First Tooth with plastic bags to store inside along with a card to note the date. Next I added some additional cards for them to jot down special memories that they can add to a scrapbook at a later date.

I wish I has this when my son was he was younger... I now have to rely on my aging brain for all the memories!
If you try one, please put on on my facebook so I can check it out!

{Trick or Treat bag}

This is the first year my son will not be dressing up for Halloween so I decided to make him his own Treat bag!

I used a basic lunch bag, some scrap paper & Martha Stewart punches. I punched a window in the center of the bag using left over Cricut Cartridge packaging for the clear window so he can peek in and see his treats (I still need to fill!)

Very fast, very easy, very cute!

{GIRL TIME Treat boxes}

I am going away with some friends in a couple of weeks and I made these for the group!
They will be filled with little goodies!

Don't you just love GIRL TIME!

{I Heart Candy! Halloween Treats}

Inspired by the Martha Stewart Spider punch I made some treat boxes. I used Tags, Bags, Boxes & More Cricut Cartridge and my Gypsy to cut out the Crayon Box (W= 5.49 x H= 4.18 and was able to get SIX to a 12x12 page)

The size is large enough for a FUN SIZE Candy!

I'm Back!

Hi Everyone!! I can't believe I have been away from this blog for so long. It wasn't a planned hiatus but my personal life is quite hectic during the summer and crafting does not seem to have it's place!

Now that I am back I am thinking of ways to rejuvenate my blog with new projects & videos planned. In the past I have focused mainly on card making but I think I may branch out into other "crafty" areas. In my personal crafting time I knit, make jewelry, decorate cakes and make home decor so you may see new and hopefully fun projects this year.

Be sure to come back often because you never know when I will give away some blog candy to my faithful readers!

{I don't like Glitter!}

I know that is a funny title to a post but I just realized "I don't like Glitter". Now don't misunderstand me, I LOVE Glittery things, just not "crafting with Glitter". I don't think I like the messy part (which in itself is kinda funny if you saw the condition of my craft room as I type this). I don't like getting the glitter everywhere, I don't like the gooey, gloppy mess that is left on my fingers after the crafting... all I can say is THANK GOODNESS for STICKLES.

Ok, enough rambling, maybe I will package up some goodie bags of my stash of glitter... keep watch for an opportunity to win some in the next coming weeks!

All for Aidan

I wanted to pass this along to all the crafters out there! This is from http://www.pinkcricut.com/2011/02/aidan/: Check out her post!

All for Aidan
A Baby in Need of Smiles – Please Help Little Aidan
Tanya from Scrappin KY Momma needs help from all of us crafters. She knows this little boy and his family and would like to send him cards. Here’s his story…
Aidan is a sweet lil 2 year old who was recently diagnosed with T Cell Leukemia. On Wednesday, he had a port installed in his chest, spinal tap, bone marrow, and chemo in his spine. He did GREAT! This lil guy is such a trooper. His parents have accepted that their BABY has Leukemia.. NOT the easiest thing to accept, but their faith in God and their support system have kept them going. T-Cell Leukemia has a high cure rate although chemo will be continued for quite a while. Lil Aidan LOVES mail, like any 2 year old does. So….

Let’s get our crafting supplies out and send this lil guy some LOVE!!! Pass this on to all your crafty friends. I think we can all take a couple minutes and make something special for him that will bring LOTS of smiles and he can look at over and over. We all know how laughing and smiling can be good for the soul. Let’s give him this much for him to enjoy while he’s battling this horrible disease. I have no doubt in my mind that God can perform a miracle in this beautiful child. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.Lets all come together and put Lots of BIG Smiles on Aidan’s and his parents faces.
You can mail your cards to:
